HLTAID002 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

Course Information

Learn and develop skills and knowledge required to respond to life threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Self-paced online theory combined with face to face practical sessions will ensure you will have the confidence and skills to assist a person in need in a range of situations.

Ensure you have the skills to respond in a situation should a friend, family, co-worker  or even a stranger need assistance.

Pre requisites

There are no prerequisites required to participate in this course.


Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will receive a statement of attainment for:
  • HLTAID002 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

Course Duration

4 hours face to face plus online theory.


Completion of practical and theory components are required to achieve competency in this unit.

For the comfort of you and your class mates please ensure you wear comfortable clothes and footwear as practical sessions will require you to kneel on the floor.

All course materials are included in the cost of this course.

Selection Criteria

  • Minimum age 14 years
  • Oral communication – in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency response services and workplace supervisor, the remaining foundation skills essential to performance are explicit in the performance criteria of each unit.
