HLTAID005 – Provide First Aid in Remote Situations

Course Information

Your work or recreational activities may take you to remote locations or isolated places where you are away from definitive medical care. If this is the case you should have the skills and knowledge to provide first aid and emergency life support in a remote situation.

Newcastle First Aid offer training to provide you the skills to manage a situation which may occur in a remote environment. Have the confidence to properly plan, coordinate and manage a situation in a remote location where you or someone else may need first aid assistance.

Pre requisites

There are no prerequisites required to participate in this course.


Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will receive a statement of attainment for:
  • HLTAID005 – Provide First Aid in Remote Situations

Course Duration

10+ hours face to face and online theory.


Completion of practical and theory components are required to achieve competency in this unit.

For the comfort of you and your class mates please ensure you wear comfortable clothes and footwear as practical sessions will require you to kneel on the floor.

All course materials are included in the cost of this course.

Selection Criteria

  • Minimum age 14 years
  • Oral communication – in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency response services and workplace supervisor, the remaining foundation skills essential to performance are explicit in the performance criteria of each unit.
